Mauricio “Smokin Mo” Ledezma was born in Chicago, but moved to Costa Rica as a child. At the age of 19, he returned to the States to live in Houston, Texas. In Houston, he fell in love with the sound of Texas Blues and Swing and learned to play the harmonica. In Houston, while going to college he had the chance to jam and perform with great local musicians until the year 2003, when he decided to move to Costa Rica permanently and continue Blues Devils, the project he had started in 2000 while vacationing in Costa Rica. Smokin Mo & Blues Devils is the hardest working and most recognized blues band in the country.

Styles and Influences: Texas Blues, West Coast Blues, Chicago Blues and Rock and Roll. Littler Walter, Rod Piazza, Albert Collins, BB King, Freddie King, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Kim Wilson, The Paladins; Little Charlie and the Nightcats, William Clarke, etc.
